“To be ‘well’ is not to live in a state of perpetual safety and calm, but to move fluidly from a state of adversity, risk, adventure, or excitement, back to safety and calm, and out again. Stress is not bad for you; being stuck is bad for you.”
-Dr. Amelia Nagoski & Dr. Emily Nagoski
Therapy for Humans
At the core, I view people as social beings (an Adlerian perspective), and I believe people create their identities through their roles within their cultural backgrounds and their communities of families, work, school, and other collective environments.
I utilize Internal Family Systems (IFS) to guide clients in identifying and witnessing the different “parts” of their systems to better understand why they do the things they do. IFS is an evidence-based, non-pathologizing, experiential therapy model that relies on clients’ self energy and on slowing things down to have more clarity and connection to their lived experiences.
Chapters Within Therapy derives its name from my belief that “parts” of each person can be explored through the chapters of their life.

It is my intention to create a safe space for clients who are ready to work with and through the experiences that make up the chapters of their lives. By embracing the difficult aspects of our stories in a safe space, I believe that we are able to heal and trust ourselves. In order to create this safe space, I am dedicated to continuously learning and growing as both an ally and advocate for LBGTQIA+ and BIPOC communities by embedding those perspectives in my daily life as well as attending professional development trainings.
The experiences, perspectives, and culture of each and every one of my clients is of the utmost value to me as a professional and I feel honored to be able to hold space for each individual who comes into my office.
